What are SWAT Codes? These elements of media are vital to understanding how we construct meaning and create media. For this assignment you will need to use the internet to research what the four Media SWAT Codes are and to find examples of each type.
Task- Practical
Once you have completed your research you will need to summarise the different code meanings into a PowerPoint presentation that will be submitted for marking. Ensure you have picture examples for each and be creative in your presentation.

Write the task in your own words.
2.Find a few resources that explain the SWAT codes
Use keywords to search on the internet to find information about the SWAT Codes. Use at least three different sites. Ensure you copy down the web address to add to your bibliography.
3.Answer ALL focus questions
Make sure you have answered ALL your focus questions. This will help you fully understand the task.
4. Summarise the SWAT Codes
Using the resources you have found summarise each of the codes into your own words and include an example. Remember copy and paste is not acceptable and is classed as plagiarism, you will be marked down for it.
5. Create your PowerPoint
Consider the layout, colours, images to help make your PowerPoint stand out. Try and be original and creative.
6. Bibliography
Make sure you have included a bibliography page at the end of your PowerPoint. Your bibliography must include the web address and name of the site. Below is a link to some examples of the correct way to cite a webpage
7. Revise
Look at the Marking key to make sure you have covered all the requirements

Beer ads portray drinking beer as a primary component for having a party. SUV ads create the impression that driving an SUV as an exciting, outdoor adventure.

He became aware of the role the Photographers were having in distorting the truth just by being present. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DksSPZTZES0 Music videos often represent men and women with bias or exaggerated traits that are not true representations. In this music video Justin Timberlake breaks into a house and stalks the female occupant think about the possible real world effects of cultural representations such as this. |

- Choose a film to review
- Answer all the focus questions
- Write a review that includes the information from all the focus questions and your thoughts about what is good about claymation and the film you choose to review.
- Edit the review by getting a peer or teacher to read through your work for mistakes
- Type up a good copy using 12 Calibri in word- ensure you have a title page with your name and title of the task
- Your task needs to be completed by the end of the lesson week 8

- Write the review following the Hamburger Structure following the instructions below.
- Edit your review and type a good copy using Word.
- BY THE END OF THE LESSON your assignment must be saved as "Task 2 with your name" eg "Task 2 Jo Blogs" in the task 2 file in our year 7 folder

1.Top Bun – Introduction; what is you review about, what are your main ideas 2.Tomato- 1st Paragraph; Details of one idea, include examples and evidence for your thoughts 3.Lettuce and cheese- 2nd Paragraph; Details on another idea, include examples and evidence for your thoughts 4.Burger- 3rd Paragraph; Details of your final idea including supporting examples and evidence once again 5.Bottom Bun – Conclusion; Restate your main ideas and add some “sauce” a sentence to get the audience thinking The top and bottom bun hold it all together make sure they are linked |

- One Idea with evidence or an example; who are your three Claymation Artist? Why did they appeal to You? Give an example of a film made by each Artist with details of where you found it and when it was made.
- One idea with evidence or an example; Tell us about the Claymation film you reviewed include the title, animation artist, web-link and how it could have been improved or what do you think makes it successful. Consider the SWAT codes - Symbolic, Written, Audio and Technical codes used to create the animation
- Restate your main ideas and task question. Sum up your opinion about the animation in a few sentences. Support your thoughts with an example from the film. Add some sauce by leaving your audience with an idea or thought to convince the reader to agree with your point of view.
